The market of twitter clients is well fed, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any room left for a new, better one. Recently Pixel Tucker Ltd. released MetroTwit, a fun and slim looking Twitter client for Windows.
As opinions are devided for the new metro-style so are these devided for Metrotwit. Some do like the appearance of the new metro, others don’t. Depends on what type of a person you are really. As Windows people will start to argue about whether metro-style is the next big thing for Windows, whether it has the same appearance as a Mac, We would like to decide we’re open for that ‘next big thing’. The Metro style looks fine, and as time goes by you start to love it. The MetroTwit client combines both estethics with functionality, it doesn’t have any unnecessary tidbits and allows you to have at least one program that blends in with your next OS (Windows 8)
Features & Functionality
Besides the usual tweet-stuff, Metrotwit also offers special functionality as keyword filtering, followers notifications and multi-user functionality. The filtering allows you to wipe out all of the tweets you couldn’t care less about. The filter allows both keyword, hashtag and application filters. If you, for example, hate all the tweets about youtube updates you can filter all the tweets featuring youtube. The most important function is the ability to run multiple account simultaneously. For companies who run multiple accounts this is a huge deal. It’s not just the fact that you have this functionality but it’s also important that it works smoothly. As with other clients you have a delay, or you are obligated to receive tweets from only one. In Metrotwit you receive all your tweets, all your messages, giving you the ability to tweet at a touch of a button/finger. Sadly this comes at a premium price of $15 but more on that later.
Metrotwit comes in two flavors, the premium one and the free one. Luckily despite that Pixel Tucker offers a payed version of the app, the free one has everything bundled in it that it needs. In fact the only real premium option (as for now) is the use of multiple accounts! Therefore if you only use one account, you’re better of with the free version. On the other hand for companies the great feature to eye multiple accounts simultaneously is great!
