When comparing the Canon 5D Mark III to the Nikon D800 video-wise we have to say they have a lot in common. But does that mean that they are comparable?
By introducing the D800 Nikon surely hoped to get rid of its poor reputation for video capturing. Video’s that were dull and without any real focussing were bad characteristics that distinguished a Nikon fanboy from a Canon fanboy. Therefore Nikon left the predecessor of the D800, the D700 with only a faint 720p capturing mode. With the D800 having a fullHD mode (with 30,25,24 fps modes) it becomes a very interesting full frame video-camera.
