The iPhone is one of the most high-end and most popular phone out in the market, but of course it comes with a cost that some might say to be expensive. Recently, Virgin Mobile (part of Sprint) has announced that it will be releasing the iPhone 4S onto their network. The monthly plans start out from only $30 a month – 300 minutes of talk time and unlimited web, text, and data. There is also an unlimited play for $50 – unlimited everything.

Virgin Mobile announced that the iPhone will be for sale on June 29, 2012. Also, because the iPhone is not on a contract, you would still need to buy the iPhone for a higher cost. The iPhone 4S 16GB model for Virgin Mobile is around $649. Now that doesn’t seem like the right price for a phone, but you need to keep in mind how much you are paying per month for service and also that you are on a prepaid network.

Now, is it actually worth getting a prepaid iPhone. The answer is both yes and no. It depends on your budget. You might think that paying around $600 for a phone is a lot and is sure more than you will ever spend on your monthly bill. Well this is a comparison of how much you would spend on a iPhone for 2 years on both Verizon, AT&T, Virgin Mobile, and Sprint.

Verizon –                                          Phone Cost: $199                                  Monthly Cost: $70                                       Total Cost After 2 Yrs: $1,879

AT&T –                                               Phone Cost: $199                                  Monthly Cost: $60                                       Total Cost After 2 Yrs: $1,639

Virgin Mobile -                             Phone Cost:  $649                               Monthly Cost: $30                                       Total Cost After 2 Yrs: $1,369

Sprint -                                               Phone Cost: $199                                 Monthly Cost: $70                                       Total Cost After 2 Yrs: $1,879

When you add everything up, it really makes a difference. You can see that Verizon and Sprint have both really expensive plans, AT&T is in the mid-range and Virgin Mobile is the most affortable plan for the iPhone out there.

Basically if your looking for a great and affordable plan and you really want an iPhone, Virgin Mobile has you covered.
